On October 17, 2015, I will be jetsetting on an international adventure to Southeast Asia for 6 months. Volunteering at an animal sanctuary for two months outside Bangkok, Thailand is the first adventure. My next adventure will be backpacking through Thailand, Laos, Vietnam, Cambodia and Bali. How long I spend there, where I go within those countries, who I’ll meet, and what I’ll do are all up in the air (suggestions are always welcome).
I am taking my sweet time getting to Southeast Asia, though. Going to Calgary for a weekend, then Vancouver for a few days, then going to Bangkok through Tai Pei.
This will be an adventure of a lifetime, shattering my comfort zone as I travel in foreign countries by myself. I will have days when I never want to come back, and I will have days when I want to run away home, and I will tell you about them all. I will learn and I will grow, and I will probably come back with my entire world rocked and rolled.
So I, Rachel Coulter Levy-McLaughlin, swear to:
